I am thinking of this blog as a daily diary, documenting our move and the things we are doing to get that in place. It will be fun to look back on and if it can help anyone else thinking of making a big move then even better!

My goal is to write a post daily. Obviously that is a lofty goal as I have already missed a day and it hasn’t even been a full week of blogging. But you know what? Life happens and some days are just not about moving. Yesterday, the Bits and I drove from Charlotte to Atlanta to visit my new niece, their new cousin.

Holding baby Tori takes precedence over EVERYTHING and I couldn’t tear myself away for even a minute to so much as type a hello. She is 2 months of absolute perfection and if I could do nothing forever but hold her I would. Sadly other folks want a turn too and I have to share.

Preparing for this visit did help a bit with emptying out the house as Tori’s older sister, Fia, has been the recipient of our hand-me-downs for years. Prior to our drive, I went through Evie’s clothes and brought Fia 3 boxes of out grown and winter clothes. I figure we’re not going to need many long sleeve shirts on the beach.

Having spent the day holding a newborn, I determined that my BFF, Nathalie, is in need of a glider. Kylie is always looking for an excuse to drive to ATL and visit her childhood besties so it has been decided that when she is done with her semester in May, she here will be driving here to meet her new cousin and bring the glider. That delivery will probably also include a few more boxes of hand-me-downs as well as some pots and pans as Nathalie’s pan situation is sorely lacking.

At the end of the day, my house is getting emptied so I guess I can consider this visit part of our move preparation. Don’t you agree?
