We made it back from Philly and now have a few days to attack our disaster of a house before the Bits return to school. If you know me well, you know that I most likely have ADHD. I get super enthusiastic about starting a project and then….squirrel….

Imagine someone like that trying to sort through her 4 bedroom house to decide what goes to storage, to Costa Rica, or to Goodwill. There are half completed projects in every room. It is not pretty. I have tripped and bruised myself pretty badly at least three times since I’ve started this nonsense. Once I did the splits…..trust and believe, I am not someone who should be doing the splits. It did not end well for my gluteus maximus or my pride. I am just thankful my older kids were not around to witness it and then relentlessly make fun of my “performance.” Parkouring through my house right now would be challenging even for Simone Biles.

This current madhouse wouldn’t be such a big deal except next week Jeff and I are hosting someone from a property management company to give us a rental estimate. All part of the info gathering process. In it’s current state, the property manager may suggest we just condemn the joint and not even bother trying to rent it out. So, I have my work cut out for me.

Honestly, I hate living like this which says a lot as I thrive in chaos. I keep telling myself that in Costa Rica we won’t have as much stuff so we can’t possibly be so cluttered. But I feel like my family is up to the challenge. My craft supplies alone (and I am bringing a good chunk of them) are at the root of much of the problem. The Bits toys (and they’re bringing a good chuck of them) certainly don’t help.

Our CR house will be significantly smaller making things interesting. But we won’t have copious amounts of books, chochhkis, kitchen supplies, games, blankets, clothes and other random junk. Plus I am planning on having y’all come and visit so I have to keep our home company ready at all times. That is a challenge I am certainly cut out for!
