This tiktok video pretty much sums up our trip to PriceSmart. If you don’t have TikTok, I’ll sum it up for you. It took us an hour and 10 minutes to get there and we crossed something referred to as Monkey Pass. We didn’t see any monkeys but I did almost throw up. It’s a bumpy windy ride. Fortunately, the off roading portion is only about 5 minutes or so. Car sickness in Costa Rica is real, yall.

When we got there and I walked in I felt like the angels should be singing. It was so similar to Costco. The little groceries we have been going to near our rental in Brasilito are fun but so different from Publix. They are small and the shelves are filled with items I don’t recognize. I spend half of my time on google translate trying to figure out what things are. Look what we ended up with when we thought we were getting sausage for pizza.

Liverwurst! It was liverwurst. The only one that was excited about that was Daisy who apparently quite enjoys liverwurst.

Walking into PriceSmart was like going home. Yes, it sums up everything that is wrong with American consumerism. Yes, we spent more money then we should have. Yes, I bought things I didn’t necessarily need (although I can make a great argument for anything tossed in the cart). And yes, I hate to admit it…..but I LOVED IT.

We purchased an awesome rug so we no longer slip coming in from the pool. (Rough life, I know.) I have chicken for the next month, enough olive oil to last until Evie graduates college and bags of chips so large it’s insane. I regret nothing.

The next time I feel homesick, I’m going to just head over to PriceSmart. I’ll feel better in no time! (although I may be a little car sick).
